Holiday Lights at Phoenix Zoo.

Peacock

Visit the Phoenix Zoo this holiday season to see the annual Zoo Lights. If you are ever in Phoenix in December this is a must see holiday event. The zoo is open at night and the whole zoo is decorated in lights. There are more pictures on my Low-Light tab. To the left is a peacock decoration.

Wildflowers: February is the time of the year that the cactus and wildflowers start blooming in the desert. Here is a picture that I took just in the neighborhood of Scottsdale, AZ that the wildflowers are growing around the cacti.

Koala in a Tree

San Diego Zoo, June 2011 - Another place I visit to capture wildlife photographs are at zoos. This a photograph that was take last summer when I was at the National Model A Tour. One of the tour events was visiting the San Diego Zoo. This was a photo opportunity for me to capture some wildlife animals, such as this "Koala in a Tree".

Nature Photography

Garden Waterfall

Nature photography connects you to the land that surrounds you, such as flowers, trees in the forest, rock formations, beaches, and waterfalls. Even though, I live in the desert, I still get the opportunities to connect with nature, such as a waterfall.

Inspiring Landscapes

What types of landscapes inspiring you? Is it the red rocks of Sedona or is it the sunset beaches in San Diego? As you can see under the Landscape tab, I enjoy photographing both. When I want to get out of the city, I go north to the red rock mountains of Sedona to do some, hiking, jeeping, and taking some photos of those red rock mountains. When I want to get out of the desert and cool down, I head for the beaches of San Diego to capture the sunsets reflexing off the ocean waters.

Projects - Touch of Color

Yellow Flowers

Last Year 2011 - Latest year, I worked on a project called the Touch of Color. This was a post digital process where I took a photograph of a flower then saturated the photograph to black and white background leaving just the flower in color. You will find more information about the Touch of Color under the Project tab.

Bee-N-Daisy

Mission Bay, CA - Macro photography is fun when photographing flowers. One of my first macro assignments was to photograph a flower, so I picked this purple daisy because I like the color purple. When I got up close to take the shot, I notice there was a bee in the flower. After that day I fell in love photographing flowers and macro photography.  I had to go out and buy a macro lens, so the insects and flowers were more detailed for my future photographs.

La Jolla, CA - Wildlife photography really inspires me because the animals are in their natural habitats. When I get the chance to travel to California, I like to stop by the "Children's Pool" to see the baby seals in their natural habitat. Here is a picture of a mother seal with her baby. Digital vs Film Photography

I love photography, ever since I was a child. Now with digital technology I love it even more, because I can learn from my mistakes faster and share my photos with friends and family. What are your thoughts, digital or film and why?
